System

The purpose of the drivetrain system is to transmit power from the engine to the wheels.  This is done by incorporating a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and a custom built transaxle. A CVT is an automatic transmission that uses a belt and pulley system to shift through several gear ranges. A transaxle is an transmission and differential integrated into one part. The CVT primary and secondary pulleys are attached to the motor and transaxle, respectively. The rear axles are connected by Constant Velocity (CV) joints, which are attached on oneend to the wheels, on the other to the output shaft of the transaxle.
